When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and intended to audition people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they had to at least bring him to Ford first, thinking that he would immediately reject him, but at least other people would know that Harrison Ford was familiar with the project, which sparked interest from other notable actors.
And the rest of the show is great too
Eventually, Goldstein spoke to Ford and sold him the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was ecstatic nonetheless. Featured on WatchMojo: The 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023). Jason Segel is the perfect choice for this script.
And Jessica is perfect
He has the weird, idiotically confident energy needed for this role. His humor is perfect for the dialogue. This is a new way of doing sitcom drama. There are no monotone words, just attractive characters with a touch of weirdness and family circumstances that are a little unusual but still relatable.
You would lose your license immediately
Of course, Jimmy’s behavior as a therapist is completely absurd. Simply impossible. But we allow metaphorical situations in drama. And in this script, we feel a strong purpose in the decisions.
It’s easy and fun for me
We have to give the writers the upper hand and try to get the point. It was obviously difficult for other critics.
