BOB TREVINO LIKES IT is inspired by a genuine friendship writer/director Tracie Laymon found with a stranger while searching for her father online. Lily Trevino often plays the role of a caregiver for those like her father who are supposed to take care of her. She longs for family connections after her mother abandoned her as a child and then suddenly her father in his twenties. Bob Trevino works long hours alone at a construction company to support his wife Jeanie’s scrapbooking habit. The couple had suffered greatly over the past decade, and Bob had struggled to prioritize his wife to the point of ignoring his own feelings and needs for friendship, meaning, and connection—that is, until he received an unexpected Facebook message from a stranger. Lily and Bob’s blossoming friendship becomes a major source of connection and healing in their lives. Bob’s small acts of fatherly kindness fill the void of family in Lily’s life and have the power to change her direction forever.
