Need a lawyer? He runs his law firm out of his Lincoln and is ready to take the gas. He drives around Los Angeles taking on cases while balancing a personal life that includes being a father and having two ex-wives.

Originally set up with CBS for a 2020 series commitment, it was canceled just before filming the first episode due to COVID. It has now been picked up by Netflix for a 10-episode first season based on Mickey Haller’s second book, “The Brass Verdict.” Mickey Haller has several cars, all with California license plates personalized with legal terms. California personalized license plates allow a maximum of seven letters/numbers, but all of Mickey’s license plates have at least eight.
I couldn’t have been more wrong
Lincoln Lawyer was actually better than I expected. I never read the books it was based on, but I saw the Matthew McConaughey movie and thought it was pretty good, but not worth making a series about. I was really hoping it would be a low-budget rip-off.
I actually enjoyed it more than the movie
I didn’t want to watch it until I saw all the great reviews and that it was one of the most watched series of the year on Netflix. Manuel García-Rulfo does a good job as the lead and Becky Newton, Neve Campbell, Angus Sampson, among others, do fantastic work in supporting roles. While it’s not the best legal show you’ll ever see, it’s definitely worth watching.
